OTRE DAME IS A UNIVERSITY AND MORE-IT IS A COMMUNITY. The words of university president Edward Malloy summarizes the feelings of all who attend this institution. Few graduates of other institutions can honestly say that their collegiate experience was a family experience. Students come from all over the world for one common purpose—learning. But they leave South bend with much more. Friendships and connections that will last forever, some closer than others. 55-60% of Notre Dame St. Mary ' s college graduates eventually marry other Notre Dame St. Mary ' s alumni.
