Hesburgh, and Father Malloy, at its dedication. on Throughout the 1991-92 year, the Notre Dame community cele- brated the Sesquicentennial Anniversary of the founding of the University. A campus-wide committee of students, faculty, staff and administrators planned a series of events to celebrate Notre Dame ' s evolution from log chapel parochial school to national Catholic research university.
