Campus Shows Several New Faces Like the different faces the campus was putting on, so were the students. Homecoming offered a time to change your looks and have a little fun. It was a time to break out of that normal routine. The campus under went several changes early in the year. With the final phase of the CAC (Communication and Arts Center) be- ing under construction. Several other build- ings had roof repair and some new windows. Several students offered their version of school spiiii during home- coming week. There were many pointed face» of many varieties. Including the spirit of the panther mascot, portrayed by Vaughn McElvain. At left; A new untitled sculpture by Duscnbery will be seen in the courtyard by the CAC Communication Arts Center.

Events Fill Spare Time Events, projects, memorials, practices ral- lies and general partying are all things that fill up our spare time. We tried to find things to get involved in to enjoy our few spare moments of time. The University sponsored many events for the students to enjoy. Bulletin boards were jammed with information. The Northern Iowa carried events in a Whats Happening column. Political rallies for the up coming elections were starting to take place. The hill was a hang out for weekend fun. Students populated Bo Jingles and Stebbs on a regular basis. The Other Place kept busy delivering pizzas to campus groups. During the vacation season, it was com- mon to hear about trips to Colorado or Flor- ida. These made it possible to get away from the studies for awhile.
