Last season's squad which won its first thirteen matches, had five return- ees this season. Coach Mazula also counted on some newcomers for a successful season. We have a fine nucle- us for a good season, but we don't really have any one outstanding player on the team. Women's Basketball The University of Northern Iowa's women's basketball team played twenty-eight games and ended the season with a 17-11 record. Al- though it was not the best season for the Panthers, the team did man- age to chalk up some impressive marks. Head Coach J.D. Anderson will hove to do some heavy recruiting for next year's team for the Pan- thers are losing five seniors, four of which are starters. Those seniors graduating are Deb Drenth. Carol Hogan. Lisa Geske. Betty Davis and Becky Grady. With that in mind, I am confident of a better season this spring, stated Head Coach Pete Mazula at the start of the season. He feels that many of the players have matured a great deal from the faS season. Mazda said the team should show an equal balance from the number one to seven positions.
