Accounting Graduates Successful In CPA Exam The performance of past graduates has awarded the UNI Accounting Department with an excellent reputation. Fifty-six percent of May 1981 graduates succeeded in passing the Certi- fied Public Accountants Examination the first time, as com- pared to the eight to ten percent success rate in the nation as a whole. Dr. Gaylon Halverson. Department Head, speculates the 1982 accounting class holds the potential to perform just as exceptionally as the 1981 class. Prospects for accounting majors remain high. School Of Business About thirty percent of last year’s UNI graduates came from the School of Business. At present 52 faculty members, which is less than ten percent of all UNI faculty, must teach four to five thousand students. Even while serving this vast number of students who arc trying to obtain business courses, the School of Business is constantly recruiting. The school is preparing for review by the American Assem- bly of Collegiate Schools of Business in hopes of accreditation. Organized within the UNI School of Business are the de- partments of accounting, business education and administra- tive management, management, and marketing. More Than One Career Option For Graduates The Department of Business Educa- tion and Administrative Management gives students the opportunity to pre- pare for more than one career. Gradu- ates may qualify for work in business and industry, as well as in the field of teaching. Two majors arc available in the de- partment. Students choose from em- phases in accounting, general business, sccrctarial office education, and distri- butive education in the business educa- tion major, and the administrative man- agement program is growing consider- ably.
