foreword: A year of college is like a piece of cloth—woven from fibers of classes for the warp, and activities for the woof. In this year's OLD GOLD, we've tried to weave on a picture- and-word loom a cloth record of the year. A thread here means the football championship—a thread there is one of the college departments. As you can see by the cover, we have woven a fairly plain cloth. You can fill in the patterns and colors as you please when you remember the events and the people. Here is a cloth that will give you years and years of wear. It's what all the best-dressed memories will be wearing a few years from now. The Staff and Advisor 5
