Twenty- five faculty members were selected to be freshman advisors under the direction of Dr. Kelso, Co-ordinator of Counseling, this year. Page 30 PHILIP C. JENNINGS Business Manager Approximately 1,000 employees of the college receive their pay checks from the Business Office, under the management of Mr. Jennings. He is in charge of all business functions of the college and is responsible for the col- lection of all student fees, room rents, and board charges. MARSHALL R. BEARD Registrar The office of the Registrar, under the direction of Dr. Beard, has charge of the process of admissions, handles the students' academic records, helps the students apply for teachers' cer- tificates, and furnishes transcripts of credits whenever needed after gradu- ation.

SADIE B. CAMPBELL Dean of Women Long range plans for the women of the college were continued this year under the supervision of Miss Campbell. Dean of Women, with the as- sistance of A.W.S. and the housing unit directors and of- ficers. Plans include a year by year emphasis on the growth and leadership training of all women. a cl min id tra tion PAUL F. BENDER Dean of Men Under the supervision of Dr. Bender, Dean of Men, the Men's Union has been reorganized. The constitutions of the men's dormitories have been revised also, and the Cedar Falls men's housing unit organized. All houses for men living off- campus were visited and approved for the first time since before the war. Con- tinued preparation is being made toward converting part of the barracks in Sunset Village into housing units for single men. Page 29 ILLUIII

a dm in id tra tion MARYBELLE McCLELLAND Head Librarian Over 120,000 books were moved last spring within a week through the cooperation of faculty and students under the direction of Miss McClel land, Head Librarian, in order to pro vide additional shelf space. Future plans include continued enlargement of the Library Science department. HERBERT V. HAKE Radio Program Director Radio service to Iowa schools is the major concern of Mr. Hake, Radio Program Director. The ra- dio studio serves as a “clearing house for programs originating on campus, including football and basketball broadcasts. Page 31 GEORGE H. HOLMES Public Relations Director The Bureau of Public Relations and Information Services was formed this year from the Bureau of Publications. Under the direc tion of Mr. Holmes, the bureau coordinates all phases of public relations, including general infor- mation and news services, publi- cations, professional recruitment and alumni affairs.
