Dr. J. Harold Farmer, Director of Student Union Building Director of Union Building. Dr. Harold Farmer closely fol- lowed in 1963-64 the construction of a new three-story 81.2 million Student Union Building. One wing was scheduled for occupancy during the spring and completion of the other set for December. The new facilities ultimately will contain five times more room than the present structure. Dr. Farmer has full charge of UB activities: scheduling student events, supervising Snack Bar and Cafeteria operations and sup- plying information to students and visitors. He is also secretary of the Ex-Student Association. Manager of University Store. The University Store will spend most of 1964 in the basement of the first new wing before it is moved into permanent quarters on first floor. Continuing the duties he began in 1948, Andrew B. Hall, Director of Print Shop Director of News Service. Dr. james L. Rogers jr. has the double responsibility of being administrative head of News Service while coordinating university publications. This year Dr. Rogers supervised preparation of a television film, Alma Mater-NTSU, depicting school history and achievements. In 1961, he received a Special Science Information Award from the Southern Regional Education Board. Director of Print Shop. D. Hall supervises the Print Shop, which produces university publications. A S50,000 improvement project was instigated in 1963 with the purchase of a web offset press and a camera, plate-making accessories and auxiliary equip- ment used in offset printing. NTSU is among the first schools in the region to own a web offset press for newspaper publication. 20

Being Nsecond mother to several hundred girls is a title which could be aptly claimed by the 10 social directors for North Texas dormitories. The continuous job of supervising dorm life keeps these ladies extremely busy. The social director for all women's dormitories, Mrs. Urcie Tirnblin doubles as dorm mother at Marquis Hall. She supervises placement of girls in dorms and dormi- tory regulations. Currently 2,461 coeds live in university dormitories. Completion of Maple Street Dormitory in the fall of 1964 will create space for an additional 540 girls. With the exception of married women, students are required to live in approved housing.
