Webb, Director of Libraries T Lists 89 Subjects 0ff Campus: Library Improves Facilities Director of Libraries, The Main Library, under the direction of Dr. David A. Webb, underwent several major additions with the creation of the education-psychology library and room and substantial additions to the children's literature collection as well as a new reading room. Corresporzdence-Exterzsion. A total of 89 courses, coordinated by Mrs. Hilda Cun- ningham, are offered through the two pro- grams. Over 1,000 students are enrolled in extension courses alone. The two programs enable persons to re- ceive college credit for work done individu- ally or as a member of an extension class in their own community.

Dr. Alex Dickie, Registrar Registrar. In this capacity Dr. Alex Dickie is responsible for keeping permanent student records and releasing official grades and transcripts. Before coming to North Texas in 1940, Dr. Dickie was deputy state superintendent of schools for Texas and school superinten- dent in Woodson. He is a member of Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars, Texas State Teachers Association and the Ameri- can Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers. Dr. Dickie received his B.A. and M.A. from Texas ASLM and his doctor of educa- tion from the University of Texas. Director of Admissiorzs. John E. Tomp- kins was named to his current post in 1961 after serving as associate registrar. Tompkins previously served two years as assistant professor of business administration and nine years as registrar and dean of students at Tarleton State College in Ste- phenville. He is a former North Texas student and a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars. Hall, Director of Print Shop Director of News Service. Dr. james L. Rogers jr. has the double responsibility of being administrative head of News Service while coordinating university publications. This year Dr. Rogers supervised preparation of a television film, Alma Mater-NTSU, depicting school history and achievements. In 1961, he received a Special Science Information Award from the Southern Regional Education Board. Director of Print Shop. D. Hall supervises the Print Shop, which produces university publications. A S50,000 improvement project was instigated in 1963 with the purchase of a web offset press and a camera, plate-making accessories and auxiliary equip- ment used in offset printing. NTSU is among the first schools in the region to own a web offset press for newspaper publication. 20
