The office aids mainly education students but maintains current files on all graduates of the University. School administrators visit the office regularly in search of stu- dents for teaching positions. Placement also provides up-to- date information on changing trends in various fields. Guidarzrf' Office. Tests of abili- ty, interest and personality may be taken in this office. The office attempts to help students who are undecided about a major field and those who need to develop more thorough study habits. Reading courses are offered by this office for the slow reader. Business Gffice Gfficials Handle School Budgets, Fiscal Reports, Payrolls Robert H. Caldwell, Business Manager Comptroller. Preparing the annual financial report and budget is the responsibility of John L. Carter Jr., Comptroller, who is in charge of the universityis ac- counting, reporting and auditing. Carter, a certified public accountant, was chief ac- countant here prior to his becoming comptroller in 1961. He received his B.A. in 1946 from the University of Texas. Carter is a member of the American Institute of Accountants. Business M anager. Robert H. Caldwell supervises the Business Office, issues faculty and student payroll checks and approves and accounts for university ex- penditures and revenues.
