Art students and ex-students have surpassed all oth- er student groups in Texas in the number olf prizes won in state and national craft shows. Research this year in the suitability olf Denton clays lor use in pottery making has yielded two clays of excel- lent quality for this purpose and three others that are suitable for limited use. In the spring the Department was host to the Texas Handweavers Society. The success of graduates of this Department makes it possible for capable undergraduates to look forward to excellent positions. .

Biology The Biology Department offers a curriculum to meet graduate and under- graduate needs for teaching, doing pro- fessional research, and preparing lor medical, dental, and medical teclmology training. Specialized laboratories and equipment are provided in a new build- ing for the work of the Department.
