an TRADITIONALLY, there has been uncertainty and misgiv- ings about entrance of freshmen into a new social scene - col- lege life. Yet, here, no less than as in former years, new students have met this transition bravely and even light-heartedly. Quick- ly they are swept into full social participation on campus as if they were old hands - as indeed they are. Strangers do not remain strangers on our campus. A NEW SPIRIT has pervaded our campus, new zeal is in evidence in students' activities. Handle-bar mustaches have been forgotteng high, stiff Celluloid collars have been replaced by casual sport collars: short, crown-fitting hair styles show no indications of the long styles of one-half century ago, and ballerina skirts are the only remains of a by-gone era of ankle length full skirts. YET UNCHANGED is the keen attitude of campus fellow- ship passed down through the years, as we work, study, worship. play, laugh, and cry together, that has resulted in . . . nt tradition ....
