N. - NINA PREUSS, CLEMENTINE GRUSENDORF, R, N, Housekeeper The hospital serves the student-body twenty-four hours out of each day, never ceasing to administer medical aid to those in need of it. Dr. Hayes is capably sup- ported by a staff of two registered nurses who are on duty at the hospital throughout the day. Dr. Hayes is supervisor of the college hospital to which all students who have met the required fee have access. Medical advice and treatment are given free of charge. LINDLEY O. WRIGHT Texlbaak Librarian The textbook librarian has charge of over 30,000 books used in the twenty-three instructional departments of the College. Over 17,000 new copies have been added dur- ing three and one half years just past. The books are issued to the faculty and students on a rental system. A complete record of every transaction is kept. The number of entries made in order to keep a record of all the transactions in administering the business of the four named branches above are innumerable. No tax is re- quired for the operation of this department. The rental fees and lines pay all expenses and carry over a credit balance.

BLAIR Director Department of Extension Placement Bureau Department of Extension Every year students whose college work is as yet in- complete go forth to occupy teaching positions. The small salaries paid to these teachers make it difficult for these men and women to give up their positions and spend more years in college in further training for their work. It is of vital importance that provision be made for the additional training of these teachers who are in active service. To meet this need is the purpose of the Extension Department. The Placement Bureau has the two-fold function of assisting public schools in getting in contact with the teachers trained in this institution and in assisting stu- dents and ex-students in securing teaching positions in which they can best work. ln addition, it follows up students who have gone out from the institution to see how well they may be serving the public schools and to assist them in securing promotions when such are due.
