Affer receiving his degree in elecfrical engineering in 1922, he wenf on fo complefe work for a lVlasfer's degree four years lafer. Af fhe Universify of Michigan in l934 he fulfilled requiremenfs for his fhird educafional degree, and was granfed a docfor of philosophy in physics. l-le has been a member of fhe Universify faculfy for eighfeen years. This physics-'reaching dean is well able fo undersfand fhe problems of beginners af fhe Universify because he is a Norfh Dalcofa producf himself. l-le was born af Bafhgafe of American parenfs, and has lived a complefely normal Norfh Daliofa life. l-le is married fo a member of Phi Befa Kappa and an honorary member of Sigma Epsilon Sigma, and has an eighf-year-old daughfer. -2i.
