we squirm and squeeze and jam together trying to get into kenan stadium but not in vain watching the sharp crunch and caustic grind of two teams battling on the field of honor for the alma mater — some watch hazily coolers by their sides but nonetheless they enjoy it as much as anyone else — the Saturday release to get out into the air and cheer and raise hell is as much a part of the hurry as three-hour labs — sitting in the stadium after it is all over and relaxing musing on the hurried game — time to get to partying

the elegance of the diamond the sparkling lustre of the reflection of lights from the golden hair of a beautiful girl the nervous tension and preparation go into the formation of a queen — to listen to renown figures of state as Dean Rusk — to await the decision of a nation on its leader — we voice our opinion but what do we count — we count as Carolina hurrying to get out of here into something else
