The purpose of the UNC-W History Club is to create a greater interest in history and it's values among stu- dents, history maiors and non-history maiors, through a program of lectures, field trips and other activities. The History Club also sponsors a film series each year, de- signed to be informative as well as entertaining, the films aid history students as well as students in other fields.

The Physical Education Maiors' Club kept quite busy this year with the North Carolina Association of Physical Educa- tion and Recreation held at the Timme Plaza, November I8- 2O. The club members were in charge of registration, and also showed films and funished refreshments. Dr. David Mil- ler, adviser of the club, was program chairman. Among the visitors invited to speak to the club during the year were Mr. Warner, teacher at UNC-W5 Mr. William Booth, Principal at Sunset, and Mr. Bill Winstead, also a teacher in the school system. There was a party in March for all Physical Education ma- iors. The Physical Education Maiors' Club was organized in order to give future physical education teachers more prof- essionalism in teaching. Physical Education Majors' Club Barrett Payne - Vice-President, Sam Jones - Sergeant-at-Arms and Melvin Batson - President.
