We Dedicate the PINE NEEDLES Since 1891. when Dr. Charles Duncan Mclver urged legislators to pass a bill creating a school for higher education for women, our university has made great advances. From a physical plant in- cluding only three buildings and covering only ten acres, the North Carolina State Normal and Indus- trial School has grown to a full-fledged university. The institution has been named, in addition to State Normal and Industrial School. North Caro- lina College for Women, Woman ' s College of the University of North Carolina, and currently, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Over the past seventy-five years the dedication, time, money, and enthusiasm of many persons have entered into the making of a great institution. The work of early administrators and faculty only laid a foundation for the University. The present ad- ministration and faculty have contributed much to the continuing growth of this institution. And future administrations will continue to build on this groundwork. To the work, time, talents, and spirit of ad- ministrators, faculty, interested educators, alum- nae, students and friends that have helped the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to at- tain its present position, we dedicate the 1967 PINE NEEDLES. Early classes wore pins which were l;iler replaced by class rings Mrs. Blanche Harper Moseley. of the class of 1896, similar to this one. , living alumna of this school. W86p 1967
