For his significant role in the evolution of the Woman ' s College to its present position of prominence among women ' s colleges of the nation, for his standards of scholastic excellence, for his friendly dignity that has made all of us feel at home in this community, we acknowledge a sincere debt. When we think of the tolerance, the friendliness, the genuineness of this college community, we shall always think of Dr. Woman ' s College Jackson, our guide and our friend. Governor W. Kerr Scott Chancellor Waller C. Jackson GOVERNOR W. KERR SCOTT just beginning his term as the governor of the State of North Carolina, has long been interested in the University and its development. We hope to see and hear more from him, and we believe that having had a daughter in school here will give us a warm spot in his heart. DR. WALTER C. JACKSON after sixteen years as our Chancellor, is leaving Woman ' s College tins year a finer, more widely known and respected institution. With him will go our appreciation for his service to us, and with us will remain the memory of his sincere interest in each of us and his often repeated state- ment that he was addressing the finest 2000 young women in the world . MR. WILLIAM D. CARMICHAEL Comptroller of the University, is a man with a difficult job but one well done.
