r I i GOVERNOR R. GREGG CHERRY In his biennial message to the North Carolina General Assenihly, Gover- nor Cherry dearly stated that he is the friend of higher education and advocated physical improvements and higher teach- ing compensation to insure the continued excellent standing of the Greater Univer- sity. Though he is rarely on our campus in person, we are happy that he is in Ra- leigh looking out for the interests of Woman ' s College. It is heartening to know that he is our educational and ] olitical friend. Administrative GOVERNOR R. GREGG CHERRY DR. FRANK PORTER GRAHAM or Dr. Frank as Greater University students lovingly call him, holds a special place in the hearts of Woman ' s College students. By his friendly nianner. his warm sincerity, and abounding interest in the progress of Woman ' s College, we have come to regard him as a loyal friend. It is in eager anticipation that we await his visits to our campus. It is with inspiration and renewed hope that we go away from his speeches. One of the South ' s leading educators, Dr. Frank has done much for our Greater University, for his state, and for his southland. l)K. FRANK PORTER GRAHAM »20
