STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION RUTHGILLMORE ELEANOR ECHOLS CELIA DURHAM VICE-PRESIDENT ANNISHINES TREASURER Unity, fortitude, and a cooperative spirit — these things make the Woman ' s College proud of the standards it has estab- lished and the tradition it has built throughout the years. Every student of Woman ' s College is a member of the Student Government Association, and the success and spirit of our organization depends as much upon the individual student as it does upon the student officers. We live together here on our campus in an atmosphere of responsible freedom, and are all working toward the same goal — to strengthen our characters, our minds, our personalities. This opportunity for self-government necessitates the serious efforts of student officers, the judicious use of powers entrusted to them, and, above all else, the loyal support of every student of the College. The responsibility is great, and our ideal is to render ourselves always worthy of the trust placed in us. Like any other democratic form of government there are three divisions of our student government organization: the Judi- cial Board, the Legislature, and the House Organization, serving in their various capacities. All student officers are chosen democratically, and they work in close cooperation with the Dean of Women and the Counselors who have charge of the resi- dence halls. Our faculty members are not to solve our problems for us, but to help us better face them, and we soon learn that they are human, friendly people, wiser with experience and study who are ready to believe in us and are glad to have our confidence and friendship.
