DEDICATION The staff of the 1950 SI SI humbly dedicates this first edition to those who were our first students and faculty. They were the ones who stayed with it during the uncertain beginnings and watched it begin its mushroom-like growth. In particular, we pay our respects to Miss Bonnie E. Cone, who as director and as an instructor, was its guiding spirit, and without whom, SI SI could not have been born.

FOREWORD This, the first SI SI, is intended to set a precedent; one that will be followed by classes of future years in compiling a record of the important and memorable happenings in their search for the torch of knowledge. Perhaps in future years it will bring memories of our days together and of those who were our friends. That is our purpose.

Director A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR For the members of the faculty and for myself, it has been o privilege to participate in the beginning of Charlotte College and to work with its splendid student body. The college owes its very existence to the fine spirit of cooperation and loyalty of its students. With the grad- uation of our very first class, we feel that we have reached one of our major objectives. We are indeed proud of our first graduates, and the members of the class of 1950 will always have a special place in our hearts. As you have been worthy college citizens, we believe that you will continue to accept fully your responsibilities for family and community and thus improve the cultural and spiritual life of your country.
