ef f A familiar face in all phases of the University community is that of Dr. Homer L. Hitt, Chancellor of Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Whether it be cheering the Privateers at basketball games, speaking at numerous ban- quets, or officiating at commencement exercises, the friendly smile of Chancellor Hitt is a welcomed sight to all LSUNO students. His sincere personality gives students as well as faculty members a feeling of confidence and belonging at LSUNO. Appointed Dean in i957 then Chancellor in 1963, Dr. Hitt has witnessed the college's growth from the very begin- ning.
