IA! 22 Student Sociologicol Society The Student Sociological Society at Louisiana strives to meet the clear need on this campus for an organization by means of which students may assemble to investigate, analyze, and discuss the causes and effects of sociological behavior, institu- tions, movements, and problems, to foster high standards of scholarship and research through in- dependent proiects and group association, and de- velop a greater understanding of community life and a deeper sense of social purpose. Besides sponsoring two successful field trips, the organization had several guest speakers at its general meetings. Along with these educational activities, the organization sponsored three social gatherings for the faculty of the Sociology Depart- ment as well as the students of Sociology.
