Above: Have You ever had the Monday blahs on Sunday? l UNO captured the Southern Region Championship in 1970 with a 23-17 win over Nicholl's State University in the season finale. Although the Privateers were beaten tour times, they were undefeated in league play. The Privateers were not without heavy competition. Their first loss was a 7-6 heart- breaker which the Privateers should have won. Their loss ,to a Tulane freshman team, most of whom are on scholar- ship, was not as bad as the score indicated. Two big wins of the UNO gridmen were a 39-14 thrashing of the Loyola Wolfpack and a romping 55-14 over the St. Mary's Rattlesnakes. 149
