y, v yww It seems traditional that somewhere in a yearbook, the editors take a few lines to express their exhilaration and their dis - appointment, their joys and their woes. Not wanting to break with tradition tand feeling ourselves in need of such catharsisl we would like to say a few words to the following . . . . . . to our wives: justifiably fed up with the many lonely hours over the past years, you were not to be denied. For too often rewarding your long hours of typing, cutting, and pasting with growls and grunts, we apologize; for your excellent midnight snacks and moral support to match, we are very grateful. . . . to Phil Keen: who almost single-handedly put out the 1969 Khatali: only now can we fully appreciate the incredible job you did. We feel amazement, respect, and even a little sorrow in the knowledge that your efforts went largely unrecog- nized. . . . to Dean Stone: we congratulate you on your appointment as Vice-president of the Health Sciences, and acknowledge this as a significant unifying step. It was in this vein that we felt compelled to include the University,s various health-related fields in one yearbook. . . . to the second-year students; who were trying to study in their third-floor offices adjacent to the Khatali staff tlhead- quarters? sorry about that!! . to our medical illustrators: Mike and George, you distinguished yourselves with consistent service over and beyond the call of duty tand prudencey and, in so doing, earned our undying gratitude. . . . tolour readers: you now hold in your hands the product of about 540 man tand womany hours of work . . . You, of course, are the final judge as to the worth of our blood, sweat, laughter, and tears, but we can say that, in the final analysis, we enjoyed it and weire proud of it!!!
