ililllg 1-1 2 B. flLfR L M? .jr .Ml Tllllll 'I' UIIUNUIL The Student Council, as the highest governing body of the Associated Students, sponsored a number of activities during Semester II in addition to its routine work of passing on Student Senate legislation and seeing that the University's student affairs are run smoothly. A Among the social functions sponsored by the Council were two lfVar Bond dances which took place during the last bond drives. Near the end of the second semester the Council felt that a memorial assembly should be held in honor of the late president, Dr. Zimmerman. This was done late in January. A contest was held to select a new school song and was planned by the Council in order to arouse more spirit and loyalty to the school. In general, nearly all the Friday night functions Cnow banned because of a faculty rulingj open to the Student Body were financed and scheduled by the Student Council and were very popular with the student body. Members of the Council are elected by the students in stated numbers from each class, making a total of nine voting members. Ofhcers are: President-R. A. All women on campus are members, but for a more eflicient functioning a council was formed, consisting of representatives from all women organizations on the campus. The council cooperates with the Dean of VVomen and car- ries her suggestions to the students. As well as sponsoring various social activities at the University, it works in conjunction with Spurs and Mortar Board for the betterment and improvement of campus life, both materially and non-materially.
