O nf-wf VCSILXCHZ :Zf.1lllllllCl lIlLllI The record of Dr. Zl11ll11Gl'11'l2111iS service to the University and, through the University, to the State is one of rare accomplishment. During Dr. Zl1'I'11'llCl'1TlZll1'S aflnlinistration the enrolment has more than doubled, and through the establishment of the College of Education the Univer- sity has been brought in closer contact with the problems of secondary and ele- mentary education in the State. It is Dr. Zl1111H6I'lH2l11iS ann to develop the rich cultural and economic resources of New Mexico through a program of research at the University. He is keenly interested in the student life of the institution. and with the cooperation of the Board of Regents has inaugurated a program of campus l1'l1l7l'OVC1'HCi11lI which will make possible the clevelopment of the type of campus which the students deserve. Dr. Zimmerinanls unusual ability, keen judgment, and most pleasing' person- ality have made hiin loved by all with whom he has come in contact. Dean Shannon came to this school from the University of the Philippines, where he held the position of head of the English department. However, this is not Dean Shannon's first year in this institution. since he served as assistant professor here in 1925-26. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest College on the campus, and the lead- ership of it is inevitably connected with a great deal of labor. However, Dean Shannon has car- ried his task cheerfully and most admirably, and deserves a great deal of credit. DEAN SHANNON Zifze Ccyoflege of 61z.g1'1zee1 1f1lzig DEAN ROCKVVOOD Character, judgment, efficiency, understand ing of men, and technical ability are said to be the prime requisites for success in engineering. If this is true, the students in the College ot Engineering are benefited by a most fitting ex- ample of what an engineer should be in their Dean. R. S. Rockwood. Dean Rockwood has served the University for many years-ten, to be exact. It has been the purpose of the Col- lege of Engineering to develop the practical side of their work in conjunction with the more theo- retical part of the curricula. If the success of graduate engineers of the University prove that thisghas been accomplished, then this College has undoubtedly attained its aims. 'Q-.AL Twenty-tlzrce
