B. A. Albuquerque, New Mexico. Major, Social Science. F you, gentle reader, do not believe in votes for women, just challenge Mrs. Partch to a debate on the subject and then prepare to have your pet theories and arguments shattered and your views completely changed. Yes indeed, Mrs. Partch won glory to the cause when she defended Women 's Sut- tiage in a debate in Social Science class one morn- ing. It has taken Mrs. Partch only a year and a halt to take her bachelor 's degree from the U. N. M., but before joining our ranks she had done work at Simpson, Iowa, and at the University of Arizona. For ten years Mrs. Partch was connected with the Presbyterian Mission School in Chinaufu, China, Now our sutfrage friend has designs on a Master 's degree and we know she will take it, for Mrs. Partch succeeds where she attempts. MAXWELL M. SINDEBAND. B. A. New York, New York. Major, Romance Languages Minor, Social Science. T is not often that we are able to publish a Senior autobiography, but here is one that Mr, Sindeband sent us from Clovis, where he is teaching in the Clovis High School. I entered the University of New Mexico, Octo- ber 5th, 1916. Previous to that time I studied at the College of the City of New York, where the fel- lows called me Sindy and Mack The former has persisted at the U. N. M. The only branch of athletics I indulged in while at college in the East was cigarette-smoking on the campus between classes. At the U. N. M, I was most interested in the Spanish club, in which I had the honor of being vice president. Having spent only my Senior year at the Varsity, I can point to nothing eventful ex- cept that I was duly initiated into the h01'1'01'S and mysteries of the Coyote club. ' My plans for the near future are indefinite. If I have nothing else to spend, I shall spend the sum- mer either on a farm near Clovis or in Albuquerque. Until I can make the proper business connections I . plan to Stay with teaching-after all, elevating the 27 young has its compensations. f' 21

True. the picture does 11ot show her GYGS to be blue, but how could that baby stare be any other color? Even in a cap and gown Weese cannot look dig- nified. But who wants to be dignified? Certainly not our diminutive and dainty Louise. She doesn't look a day older than when she came to the Univer- sity four years ago as a care-free Freshman. He has been too busy doing four years' work in three to go in for athletics, but he hasn't been too husy to take a lively interest in all college activi- ties. Moreover, he is one who always sees you on the campus. He doesn 't go more than halt way, but there is always a friendly twinkle in his eye. Joe is rather hard to know -so are other things worth while. But we who do know him can tell the others what they miss. Joe is a eaudidate for a scholarship at Illinois State. He expects to study Civil Engineering and Matheinaties. He is getting an early start in post- !I 1Hluate work--in tact. .Toe will always he just a little hit ahead of the average man, 26 ai ' m it. Ethel may be engaged in extension work this summer in connection with the Agricultural College, if she does not take a much-needed rest. Later she expects to study at Columbia and then to teach Home lfleonomics. MILAN LAXGER DOER-ING, Kappa Sigma, Alpha Delta. B. A. Albuquerque, New Mexico. Major, Chemistry. Minor, Geology. ICARY, we are sure, will read these pages in a charitable mood and with kindly criti- eism. Ile knows the trials and tribulations of the editor, because he was editor-in- ehief uf the Mirage tor 1916, and he was an assoeiate editor on the Weekly staff for '15-'16. , Three years ago Deary left Case College, Cleve- land, Ohio, to come to the U. N, M. He didn 't waste iancig time getting acquainted. We doubt very much it Deary ever had any troubles or Wor- ries. His good-natnrecl smile and easy-going dispo- sition won for him many friends. Last year Milan was treasurer of the Rifle club and this year he was seeretary ot that organization. He also sang in the Vhoral elub this year, and was a merrymaker in Go Ask Willie. Deary spends most of his time working with smelly things in the lab, but occasion- ally we see him tearing about in his Ford racer He says he is going to post for an M. S. degree, and Milan usually does what he says and gets what he goes after. We would hardly call Deary a fusser though he did fall for Little Sister in his Junior year. .In putting the finishing touches on our sub- Jeet, we must say that he is a man with brains and a sense of llllmol'-a good combination, ' 28
