PRYOR BROWN TIMMONS, Alpha Delta. B. A. New Holland, Ohio. Major, Social Science. Minor, Latin. E are running Pryor first because someone must be first, and, besides. he is president of the passing class of '17. Pryor just naturally de- veloped the habit of being someone important this year. He is, besides chief executive of the Senior class, president of the Y. M. C. A. and business manager of this Mirage, XVho needs to be re- minded that he was heap-big-chief Kwataka in our latest success, Go Ask Willie? Not only in- musical comedy is Pryor a good Indian. He came to us in his Junior year from the Las Vegas Normal University and immediately won our hearts by bringing glory to the lf, N. M. when he helped to win our debate last year with the University of Southern California. Pryor 's chief asset seems to be his voice. He not only orates, but, as we all know, he sings. It is strange that Pryor should have no idea of what he expects to do after graduation. He says he may become a farmer-that he was raised on a farm and has always been fond of chickens! If we were choosing we would make Pryor a lawyer, but whatever his future may be, we feel sure that it will be a successful one. Generous, conscientious, and master of himself, Pryor is bound to make good. BERNICE HAMILTON, Phi Mu. B. A. I p Blackwell, Texas. Major, Modern Languages. Minor, Home Economics. EE comes next because she has the honor of being vice-president of her class. VVe cannot help but feel that it was fortunate that Pryor remained healthy and active throughout i - his term of office, for Bernice as a chief executive is hardly the little Bee we know. Bee's college minor will doubtless be her life major. CAsk Thoralf what we mean by this.j She was the tlirt in the Junior class play last year-such a natural little flirt that we wonder how she did it, she who this year is so settled and constant. Bernice made her first appearance on tl1e Hill the last semester of her Junior year, and was a welcome addition to the Hokona family. She attended Sim- mons College in Abilene, Texas. three years before coming to the U, N. M. Bee expects to spend the summer at home and to enter some Eastern college next fall. Considering the facts in her case. we are rather surprised to hear of these plans for post- graduate work: but as long as he is in college- why not? Now, Bee. why not post at the U. N. Mp? XYe know that your heart is with us. and we wish you and him all the happiness in the world! 19

Be- hind the connter she is a most unusual combina- tion of seriousness and fun, always willing to see the joke, but never forgetting her responsibility. I Daphne says she is going to visit her brother in Arizona tl1is summer, and that she may be with us again next year. We hope so-the old lib1'ary would lose its one bright spot if it lost Daphne. Minor, Spanish HIQRIQ is so much we might say about Ray, but what is the use-he speaks for himself. To make a long story short, we shall not dwell upon his Freshman year. Ray has been most active in athletics. He made the teams in basketball, baseball, and track throughout his four years. He was manager of football, '14 and '15, captain of basketball, '14 and '17, hasehall captain, '15, and captain of track, '16, In dramatics Ray made his first appearance as the Mexican cowboy, in Geing. Some, and his second as Cook, the sheriff, in The Man From Mexico. His appointment as manager of our irst s Varsity Circus proves our faith in his ability as an actor and manager. CRay confidentially told ns that the reason for his not having a part in Go Ask XYillic was the lack of stage room for his feet.j By way of not passing up anything, Ray joined the Choral elub his first two years, and then gave up singing for puhlie speaking, and went in for dehating his last two years. He was editor of the u'.-.-may of ina-'17, Ray 's plans are to take a two years' course in the School of Business Administration at Harvard Uni- versity. and then to come home and go into the in- Surauve business with all the cnergv he has dis- played on the Hill.
