Morrison Re-emphasizes NEBRASKAIand Growth Leading Nebraska to the largest Democratic triumph since 1936, Governor Frank B. Morri- son remained the state's chief executive. For the third straight term, the Governor stressed the NEBRf6iSKAland program promoting tourism. As chairman of the Midwest Governors, Conference, Morrison initiated a drive to organ- ize the midwestern governors, senators and congressmen. The group formed a bi-partisan bloc to promote industrial development through the Midwest Economic Development Program. Signing the Industrial Development Amend- ment into law, Governor Morrisonhpaved the way for expansion of Nebraska's manufacturing in- terests.
