The area surrounding Social Science and Love Memorial lihrary was gradetl and replanted with heauti- ful evergreens and flowering Itnshes. A modern agron- omy huilding- sjjrouted on Ag campus, and Ferguson hall, one of the most modern electrical engineering huildings in the country, was dedicated during College Days. Frame houses were moved from the Vine street area to clear for the girls ' physical education buildings, and wider, better-placed siilewalks were laid on both city and Ag campus. During the second semester, the entire I ' ni- versity was busy planning tiie first College Days celebra- tion in the history of the school. Recorded, too, are the traditional festivities of the University of Nebraska. Ivy Day with its vivid color and song. Homecoming with its football team of the good ol ' days, Coed Follies with its NO MEN signs — all combined to give the student of the Scarlet and Cream many unforgettable experiences. With Uncle Sam taking a liking to many of the college men, coeds invisioned a male-less campus in ' 52. The ROTC division of the University, surprisingly enough, was the most i)opular course at Nebraska. Not to be for- gotten are the many campus queens, who were whittled down to the six top Ilusker Beauties selected by band- leader Jimmy Dorsey. And the many hours spent at the books — with a few minutes off for coflfee and chatter — added up to a great year at Nebraska.

A sum of $250,(I(M) has been earmarked for nuiin tenance improvements.
