He works In coordination with the Board of Regents to direct the policies and affairs of the University. The Board of Regents was created in 1875. Six leading citizens of the state serve on the board furthering its aim of higher education In Nebraska. Regents supervise the faculty, administration, student body, buildings, and disbursements of funds. It Is a duty of the board to select the chancellor and deans.
