GREETING The University of Nebraska is now in the midst of a period of great physical develop- ment. The city campus is expanding from the original eleven acres to a tract of nearly forty acres. A group of noble buildings are in the process of erection. VVe are free from outward attacks or inward strife. The temple of Janus is closed. The times present a challenge to the students. It is sometimes said that brick and mortar do not make men, women or scholars. Are we to have enlarged oppor- tunities without correspondingly great achieve- ments on the part of the student body? I believe the Cornhusker family will answer vigorously Uno. The attitude ofthe student body towards all that is highest and best in University life will correspond to the material advancement that the state is now providing for you and those that are to come after' you.
