It was founded in the early part of the school year 1902-03. To1Professor Bourland is due the honor of conceiving the idea and form- ulating plans for the practical organization of the Club. From the first it has grown steadily in favor with both students and faculty, and has received the rec- ognition of prominent educators not connected with the College. The object of the Club, as stated in the Constitution, is: To strive for a solution of the vari- ous practical problems that arise in the work of the schoolmasterg to undertake special lines of original work leading to the attainment of the school needs in the South to-day: and to beget an aspiration, and prevailing zeal for the profession of teaching. Endeavoring to realize this objedt, the following is the line of work mapped out for this school year. DECEMBER.-R68CtlO11 Against Uniformity: Cal Uniformity as Seen in the Howard School: Cbb System of Promotiong Cel Hall Against the Room Plan. Line of Progress from Uniformity to Nonuniformity: Cal The Old-Fashioned Academyg fbl The Dewey Experiment. JANUARY.-MOtOf Education: Cab Manual Arts, CD Domestic Sciences-short talks by some manual training experts-general discussion by the Club, with a view of determining the function of manual training. Wood Work, Weaving, Basketry, etc., with specimens. FEBRUARY.-Domestic Science, Cal Can Manual Training Be Introduced into Country Schools? Cbl Should Manual Training Be Introduced into Country Schools? MARCH.-Nature Study, the aim being a solution of the problem how to best open the eyes of the country boy to his environment.
