IN MEMORIAM ... Mrs. Helen Gallagher The strength of an institution such as Western Montana College lies not in the cement foundations, the iron frameworks, or the marble walls of its buildings. Nor is it measured by the cold statistics involving numbers of students, faculty, staff, degrees or curricula. Its basic ingredients, important above all else, are the humanitarianism, the empathy, the dedication and the manifold selflessness of those who occupy its key administrative posts. Helen Gallagher, during her 15 years on this campus, epitomized each of these qualities with an excellence and understanding rare to our times. Her counsel, her guidance and her devotion were, without question, vital factors in the recent growth and success of this college. But, of even greater and inestimable value, was the influence which she exerted on all who trod the WMC campus during her tenure as presidential aide. Now, in the agonizing evaluation of our loss, emerges the realization that Helen Gallagher, in her quiet yet direct manner, left us with a legacy rich in the requisites of loyalty, truth, honor and integrity. CENTRAL BOARD Central Board is instrumental in con veying the requests of the student body to the faculty and the administration. They coordinate all of the functions that involve the students. They also have the arduous task of allocating the budget. We, the student body appreciate what they have done.
