INDIA TAIIGANYIKA IRAN GUATEMALA At hospitals and medical outposts a long way from the classroom, medical students learn to cope with unfamiliar diseasesp help to provide much-needed medical services to people in underdeveloped areas of the worldp and contribute to international under- standing and good will. This unusual opportunity to work and study in for- eign countries is offered to students through the Foreign Fellowships Program of Smith Kline Sn French Laboratories. Administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the program has enabled 123 students to work in 40 different countries during the past four years. Junior and senior medical stu- dents are eligible to apply for Fellowships, which provide for an average of 12 weeks' work abroad to be completed before internship.
