N t K Exactly twenty-five years ago C1920-1945, count iemj the first BUSHWHACKER rolled off the presses. Dr. Floyd Brice Hollingsworth edited this memorable book and Dr. Ralph Arnold Erickson worried about how it was to be paid for Cone thing that hasn't changed in 20 yearsl. This was the first year after the merger of the Kansas City Dental College and the Western Dental College. The first BUSHWHACKER was some annual, in- cidentally, due mainly to the expert cartoon work of Dr. Nathan L. Goldman. The staff of the '45 annual is the first to stick their necks way out by trying their hand at caricaturing the honored and esteemed faculty fwe hope they will forgive us--we pray they doj. We have tried to make this, the SILVER ANNI- VERSARY VOLUME, a bit different from the annuals in the past. We hope it is enoyable reading. We know you'll appreciate the pictures Ccspecially the division pagesj. The '45 BUSHWHACKER is the yearbook of a manis professional school and if in some instances liberties have been taken that might seem indiscreet or objectionable in a coeducational publication, we hope that you will understand and appreciate them for their wholesome good humor as they are intended.
