MABEL QUINN H ousemozfber a-HWY ,fx ' 1 1 1 1 1 1 ii The mansion called Epperson's Folly because of the extravagant spending by its builder,iU. S. l Epperson, who Wanted his home to be a replica of an old English country estate, is easily no- Q ticeable at S200 Cherry street where it stretches out over its expansive four-and-one-half-acre landscape. Mrs. Guinn, or Mom, as everyone calls her, has been house mother at Epperson V House for six years, and she says her job consists of simply staying here and being their friend 1 and trying to give the house a little home atmosphere. The boys have formed a HouseCoun- ' cil which is headed by David Moore, president, Jack Pierce, vice-president, Ned Bahr, secre- tary, and Robert Mitchum, treasurer. They make their own rules, which are very few, and Q1 try to live in harmony with consideration for. others, Mother Guinn said. The boys have house Ii dues to pay for a TV set and parties. l . L I FOOTBALL Football .this year was all Bounders, supporters of two teams, Bounder I, II. Bounder I went undefeated while Bounder II took second place, losing only to the Dental School and Bounder I. The Dental School, with their old pro, Dick Ferrell, gave the Bounder I team its toughest game and wound up in third place. Although these three teams turned out on top there were other teams which gave a con- sistently fine account of themselves. The Frosh Dents, led by Mickey Rowe, showed flashes of brilliance and a team composed of L.A. juniors was always ready to provide a full afternoon's chore for their opposition. Proof of the Bound- ers' ability to score points was found in the fact that Dave Bryant, Ken Hanebaum, Walt Peck, and Paul Perme were all listed among the top five scorers at the end of the season.
