3J • V • V t 9 1 The Grove • Avid Ole Miss fans pitch tents on game days for tailgating prior to kick-off. Quickly, the Grove turns from a shady park into a sea of red and blue. Most tents have the basics to entertain fans for the few hours before the Rebels take the field. However, there are some tents that are decked out with candles, silver and china. These fans bring out the very best to tailgate and support their team. Then again, some fans make their tents into a home away from home. They bring generators for fans in the summer and heaters in the winter. Also, they bring grills and crock pots to keep the food coming. For some, the only way to enjoy an Ole Miss football game is by listening to radio while still partying in the Grove. The most amazing quality of the Grove is the southern hospitality; no one is a stranger in the Grove. Student Life 23
