From l92I unlil l928 he laughl pharmacy al Wesl Virginia Universily. Dean l-lammond was a graduale sludenl al lhe Universily ol Chicago in l927-29, and during lhis lime he was made dean ol lhe Ole Miss pharmacy school, l-le received his PhD in l94l lrom lhe Universily ol Wisconsin. l-le boasls lhal his school is one ol lhe linesl in lhe Soulh, and he is especially lond ol lhe chemislry and pharmacy build- ing, lhe enlire lhird lloor ol which houses lhe school. ll is a lar cry, he recalls, lrom lhe lhree small laboralories which sup- plemenled lhe leclure rooms when lhe school was lirsl eslab- lished in July I908.
