The chancellor is chairman of fhe cornmiffee. l-le spenf a half hour reading before going fo bed. Dr. Williams is a nafive of Newporf, Ky, l-le received his A.B. degree af fhe Universify of Kenfucly in l926 and his MS. from fhe same school in I'-730. l-le was awarded his Docfor of Educafion degree af Columbia in l94O. Before coming fo Ole Miss he had been presiclenf of Marshall College in l-lunfingfon, W, Va. l-le is a member of ODK, Phi Delfa Kappa, Kappa Delfa Ri, Phi Sigma Kappa, Alpha Phi Omega, fhe Rofary club, Masons, and fhe Mefhodisf church.
