No matter where a dance was held, there was a session of bumn hop. t I lomc-coming and freshman camp, hunny-hop| ers didn't even need to have music. I he University year begins officially with the march (middle) of gowned faculty up the Mall to Northrop auditorium for the President's convocation. A suprisc news conference stunned the campus as fall tpiartcr ended. I'oorball coach Wes Kcslcr (lower right) resigned his $15,000 coaching job in favor of a vice-presidency at radio station WIX.Y. It was expected that he would renew his old contract. Page 2 i

 fall quarter Warmth, a big Hello, Football Walking along River road was especially pleasant this fall. lmost all fall was an extended Indian summer. First snowfall came late November, but outdoor parties were held at Thanksgiving. At football games, you usually held your coat in your lap and thought of the Rose Howl. The Gophers didn't go. but it was just as well. Added to finals and trying to Christmas shop and stud at the same time, it would have been just toe exciting for most students. Page 2S
