(icncral Mills and Farm Machinery Manufacturing Company sent representatives ro speak at the bi-monthly meetings of g l.duca-tion Club. These speakers help ro integrate the profession of Agriculture w ith the teaching of Agriculture. The 7 5 members also heard panel discussions of well known agriculture experts from the State department and the University during the year. I'.ach fall students discuss problems encountered in practice reaching. g Royal Day, Coventors' Youth Conference, and g Leadership Assemblies were all part of the organization s activities. Ag I ducation Club sponsored the FFA parliamentary Procedure contest. The members acted as judges in the final stare conrcsr and presented the awards. In cooperation, again, with the Future Farmers of America, they put on an exhibition at the State Fair, and when their work was done they looked forward to the May picnic at Como Park. Page 26

Fall quarter the National service fraternity sold football programs and handled the Annual State License Plate Application booth in the union. They also helped out the vets with their State Bonus Application Booth. The big rush came along in May with the Campus Carnival. As an added stunt the men dreamed up an “Ugly Man Contest,” featuring for the winner a date with Miss Minncsota-Gloria Burkhardr. The members congratulated John Ludwig who won the Dean F.lmcr Johnson Distinguished Service Award. Come spring the men journeyed to the wilds of the St. Croix river—to get away from all that bustle. Holmcr Swnnton Prom the Block anil Bridle through the Poultry club ill g campus organizations come under the jurisdiction of the Ag Club Commission. Throughout the year the commission sponsored six joint meetings of the Ag campus clubs. I)r. (ihostlv, outstanding breeder of leghorn chickens, and Dr. I . C. Stakman, president of the ssociation for the dvancement of Science, were two of the speakers. Sponsorship of the Winter Judging contest, selection of the Sronstcggard winner and Ag Royal Day w ere but three of the commission's activities. The Stonsreggard award is given by four brothers who were active in judging, and is presented each year to one of the five outstanding men in the judging contest. This year Ray I lanson received the citation and gold watch. I'he Judging Contest is brought to a close with the annual Stag banquet in the Union.
