FCDREWORD IN this fifty-first volume of the Gopher, it has not been our purpose to think up new Ways of presenting the history of 1937-38. Our objec- tive has been only to leave with you in as vivid form as possible a record of what happened at the University this year. In order to do this We have changed the traditional arrangement of the Gopher into one that seems more logical to us. If it gives you an accurate reminder of this year's history, and if it is an adequate record of college days to the seniors of 1938, then it has fulhlled its purpose.
