Galens Childrens' Workshop in the hospital makes idle hours enjoyable for five thousand pediatric patients each year. The workshop operates solely on Tag Day solicitations, This year's drive, directed by Jim Wells, was the most successful in Tag Day's thirty-five year history. mr Dffflllllf 7 '- I -.. 'u - .....-T1 Qaduceusrngall is the only social event which involves all medical students and faculty. Every year the Galens Society carries on fifty-odd projects including buying ward furniture, providing student leans, supporting the hospital chaplain, ushering at official meetings, projecting slides, etc. However, the group is best known to the Medical Center through six major functions: Freshman Counselling Program: Now two years old, this program makes student- oriented counsel and advice available to all freshman. 152 Lectureship: This annual lectureship brings outstanding men of medicine to Ann Arbor. The Galens Foreign Fellowship is a S1000 award to a junior stu- dent to support clinical or ex- perimental study in another country. This year Kirk Wuepper spent three months in Stockholm's famous Karolinska Institute.
