Then I saw it. Right on the island under the stupid tree. ' rn. an open space and only slightly illegal. I was golden. Hell, it beats fighting for a seat on the shuttle bus and besides, I thought, who has all day to waste waiting for the thing. I ran past a couple of wimpy weathermen on my way past Costello Gym. OK, so not every Weatherman is wimpy. But with spokesmen like Dick Albert and AI Caprellian, who can take any of them seriously. As I finally make my way to Southwick and up the stairs that lead to the Registrar's office I muse, Cool, I only had to dodge three speeding cars in the parking lots to get here today. I walked into the Registrar's office needing to finalize my plans for graduation. Oh, if they say I have to stay another semester because I told my bowling teacher he was a jerk --I'II kill the lot of them. But for the first time in five years, every- thing comes off without a hitch. Five years, I thought. Five long 'SZ CQ if! years. The years slip by as I reminisce while walking up University Ave and into As- tros. It's suprising how easi- ly it is to slip into the fog as you suck back a couple of cold ones. I was just another snot-nosed clown when I went through Orientation. I was following my guide through South Campus and then I noticed something that would make me realize that college would be nothing like High School. There, amid the shady trees and flowing grass, by the frisbee players and guitar- toters were two girls of slightly plump proportions cuddling as the summer sun shone down brightly on their pimply faces. Matter of fact, that was the first time I used the phrase, Urghkphl! I was a good student for a while, until I joined my frater- nity that is. When I moved into the Frat house my grades went down but, my belt size went up. That was the first se- mester I got a .8 cum. Oh boy was that ever fun. The amount of beer I consumed that se- mester would have made Otis from Mayberry green with envy. Norm Benrimo O F. j

My floppy shoes felt cold and chaffed my feet as I pulled them over my pussy cat face socks. Do, do, do, do. Lot's to do today, I hum to myself after pulling my Misfit for Hire shirt over my head and headed out of stately Misfit Manor and down Wilder Street in my beat-up but oh-so-dill early model Nova. Yeah, sure it ain't as honkin' as President Shogun's stretch Caddy, but it gets me from point A to point B without falling off Avagadro's number. Keeping the windows down in February is a pretty stupid trick, but when your tailpipe leaks fumes into your back seat you have to put up with icicles hangin' from your nose. The traffic was crowded at the Hunt's Falls Bridge, but that's okay. It gave me a chance to finish up my Life Science homework. Those profs'll take anything, I mused as I stuffed my paramecium sketch into the glove box for safe keeping. Tearing into the Riverside lot, l scream expletives at the donut-storage unit we like to call a campus cop who was making sure no evil student dared park where the profs park which was where students used to park before those QWSH profs stole even more of the oh-too-few spaces they give us to park. By stealing our parking spaces, they give out more tickets. By giving out more tickets, they earn more money. By earning more money, they get more trips to Dunkin Donuts, my friend Mick once explained it to me.
