I 'm Still Laughing In my first three years of wandering aimlessly through the hallowed halls of the University of Lowell, lhave learned many strange and wonderful things. Among these bits of knowledge, now stored away in the corners of my brain lurks the fact thatllfe In general and school life In particular is not half as bad as everyone makes it out to be lm not saying that complaining about the things which are a general pam IS not legltamate Complamlng IS an integral part of every students life and a great source of conversation All Im trying to point out IS that If I a confessed dumb broad can survive the rigors of techie llfe II just cant be all that bad I am completely convinced that attl tude IS the most Important factor In maintaining your sanity in this not so sane environment Fortunately for me I started out from day one wlth an lcan see the humor in anything attitude This I found to be my best defense against the contradictions misunderstandings and general screwups which seem to occur daily In the life of every ULowelI student Red tape IS definitely my favorite amusing pastime here at the University Before I had even managed to complete my first month of intensive U2 studies I came to the realization that In order to even sneeze un class you must fill out 30 forms In triplicate Instead of letting this annoying process drive me to taking a midnight swim In the Northern Canal I decided that if you can t beat them smother theml So now before making even a minor change In my life pattern I make sure to hlt up the registrars office for a large pile of every form I can find I then ask everyone I can find to sign somewhere on something hoping that eventually I wlll get the right E na E u .: U f au m ull .li ls This A New Major? 12 , I
