Our Advisor Dr. Francis P. O ' Hara To Dr. Francis O ' Hara, To the generous mind the heaviest debt is that of gratitude. We, the class of 1959, proudly dedicate our yearbook to you, Dr. O ' Hara, in humble appreciation for your careful guidance and under- standing during the past four years. You have helped us over the long rugged path now completed. You have won the respect and admiration of all, and as we go forth into our chosen profession, each of us will feel richer and wiser for having known you. In all sincerity and with dec]) pride we say — Thank you. 4

Our President As the Class of 1959 begins the count down before rocketing into new orbits for the future, I wish to bid its members Godspeed in the name of the College. This has been one of our better classes. It has distinguished itself particularly in its athletic achievements and has furnished fine examples of loyalty and of leadership to the undergraduate body. We trust that we have aimed and armed you well for the journey ahead. We are confident that you will make your mark in the vocation to which you have been called for He whose power is at work in us is powerful enough, and more than powerful enough, to carry out His purpose beyond all our hopes and dreams — . Dr. Daniel H. O ' Leary President

To The Class of 1959, When you and I entered Lowell State Teachers College in September 1955 our epoque was labelled with the neurotic tag the Age of Anxiety. Four years later as you are about to leave these homelike Halls, we find our times now called the Space Age. Doesn ' t this transformation of our age parallel your physical, emo- tional and intellectual growth? As we recall the timid self-conscious boys and girls of 1955 we see in their place the confident young men and women of 1959. All are aware of and prepared for their responsibilities to themselves, to their families, to their communities, to their country, to the universe and to God. Our President, Dr. O ' Leary, and all the members of the Faculty can indeed be proud of your growth and development which has taken place under their benign direction, teaching and encouragement. As we say au revoir perhaps Raissa Maritain ' s beautiful thought, expanded in the manner of Gertrude Stein, will most effectively sum up our sentiments We have been friends together, we are friends together, we shall be friends together. De tout coeur, Francis P. O ' Hara
