Our President As the Class of 1959 begins the count down before rocketing into new orbits for the future, I wish to bid its members Godspeed in the name of the College. This has been one of our better classes. It has distinguished itself particularly in its athletic achievements and has furnished fine examples of loyalty and of leadership to the undergraduate body. We trust that we have aimed and armed you well for the journey ahead. We are confident that you will make your mark in the vocation to which you have been called for He whose power is at work in us is powerful enough, and more than powerful enough, to carry out His purpose beyond all our hopes and dreams — . Dedication In our lives we have seen America make much scientific progress. Television and the Salk Polio Vaccine have been developed and put into use. This past year has seen great strides made in the realm of space. Just a few years ago, a question as to the possibility of life on one of the other planets was met with scorn. Now it is met with an eager- ness to know. We realize that progress depends upon knowledge, the willingness to learn, and the ability to accept a challenge. As teachers of America ' s youth, we the Class of 1959, dedicate our- selves to America ' s children and to progress. 2
