Today we bid farewell to Associate Professor Herman H. Brase, senior member of our faculty, our beloved friend and colleague. Her- man Brase came to Lowell State Teachers College in 1923, thirty-four years ago, coming here from Longmeadow where he had as a student in his school a little boy named Foster Furcolo. In his many years at Lowell he has made outstanding contributions to the life of the City as well as the College. As minister in the Lutheran Church, as admin- istrator of the Parker Lecture Fund, as Secretary of the Lowell Labor Management Citizens Committee, as teacher for more than a quarter century at the Nursing School of the Lowell General Hospital, his in- fluence for good and for truth have permeated and strengthened the entire community. We will miss his wisdom, his counsel and his loving kindness. God speed him in his later years. z — p jy

DEDICATION This yearbook is dedicated to Herman H. Brase, Associate Professor at Lowell State Teachers College. 1923-1957 To Mr. Brase, we wish to express our gratitude, our admiration, and our good will. The class of 1957 and Mr. Brase graduate together, we to commence the work in the world for which his efforts have helped prepare us; Mr. Brase to become Retired Leisure. He has worked taskwork and has the rest of the day to himself.
